    Default Need input with paperwork

Those who have done it. I have just bought my first suppressor.
I have to finish my part of the paperwork and send it in.
    I have an NFA trust.

just looking for advice on how to fill the paperwork out properly and what all I need to send in. Fingerprint card? Proof of citizenship?
rules get changed so much that I just want to make sure its 100% before I send it in.

Thank you in advance for the help

All you will need to mail in is a copy of the trust, your form 4 and the $200 payment to the ATF if filing using a trust. Here is how to fill out the form 4. Notice the differences between individual and trust.

Box 1: Check the type of transfer ($200 for a silencer)
Box 2A: Your name and address. Or if the item is being purchased by a trust (which we recommend, your trust’s name and address. This should be the same as what appears in the trust documents). If you want more information about setting up a gun trust, ask us.
Box 2B: The name of your County, NOT your Country.
Box 3A, 3B: This is for your dealers information.
Box 4A: Name and address of Manufacturer of the suppressor
Box 4B: Silencer (don’t use any other term)
Box 4C: Primary caliber of the suppressor
Box 4D: Model of the suppressor
Box 4E: Ignore for a suppressor.
Box 4F: Overall length of suppressor
Box 4G: Serial number of the suppressor
Boxes 5: Ignore unless you have an FFL.
Box 6: IF you are buying the silencer individually, put your SSN here. If you are buying for a trust, likely nothing goes here, but possibly the trust EIN.
Box 7 – 10: These are for your dealer to fill out.
Boxes 13 & 14 – Answer all questions truthfully, but chances are a “Yes” anywhere will mean trouble. If you are purchasing for a trust or corporation, these do not need to be filled out, currently.
Box 15 – Your name goes here. Or if purchasing through a trust, the name of the trust. “All lawful purposes” is the reason in either case.
Signature of Transferee – Your signature, or if for the trust, sign as trustee. For example, "CS Trust by Jon Doe, Trustee." Don't forget to date it.
Box 16: If purchasing as an individual, you need to attach a photograph of yourself. Not so if using a trust.
Box 17: Your CLEO needs to fill this out if you are purchasing as an individual. Not so if using a trust.

Send a copy of your trust, not the original. (this is VERY important). Make multiple copies. You'll need them for the next one

No do not put down your C&R as you are filing for as a trust. As such the trust cannot hold a FFL.

2 copies of Form 4, $200, and that citizenship page thing. Oops - and the copy of the trust I guess.

That's what I was after. The citizenship page does have to go with the trust. Glad I have some of those on hand.

Hmmmm . . . a trust. Can a prohibited person be a trustee for a trust? If not, are there any checks that catch that?

Of course they can't. And, are there any checks when you buy a rifle from your brother in law? Same PA laws apply to NFA. If it concerns you, donate to Toomey

Yes, one lives in Virginia and the other in Florida.

Not a concern. Just idle curiosity. Wondering if a criminal could set up a trust and have the trust buy his machine guns. Yeah, I know that it would be easier and cheaper to buy them at a bar someplace.
