Re: Security guard gets knocked out trying to disarm OCer.
Very fortunate that this individual had the wits and the training to intervene before the gun could get loose. It could have been much worse.

Re: Security guard gets knocked out trying to disarm OCer.
Here is the post form the linked forum:
Security guard today just tried to physically dis-arm me. Grabbed my right arm with his left hand and attempted to grab my pistol grip with his right. Elbow to the face and a back step rear kick/shin scrape to his right knee/shin...turned and hit him with a full body roundhouse punch. Knocked his a$$ out cold. Because the cops were called I can't give full details until everything is settled but it was at a big box store.
I knew he was there but he never said a word just walked right up and tried it._________________________________________

Any idea what that security guard would be charged with in PA?

I would think § 2705, at least...
§ 2705. Recklessly endangering another person.
A person commits a misdemeanor of the second degree if he
recklessly engages in conduct which places or may place another
person in danger of death or serious bodily injury._________________________________________

Re: Security guard gets knocked out trying to disarm OCer.
What an idiot, why would you try to grab someones gun? I just read the whole thread and they say there is a video of the incident, I would pay good money to watch that! The OP claims the guards nose and jaw are both broken, bet he thinks twice before trying that again.

The security guard is lucky he didn't get shot.

Holy Crap. I guess that just goes to show you that you should always be prepared.

Re: Security guard gets knocked out trying to disarm OCer.
What kind of security guard? Mall cops and other rent a cops aren't even allowed to touch anyone. All they can do is call the real cops.
After my time in the USAF I considered a security job at Cineram through a security agency. On the one day of training, I was taught to deter, observe, and report (or something silly like that).
I didn't take the job.
