Re: Question on ccp
If you have a valid license to carry in one PA county, it is good in all PA counties. You may decide to renew it in your new county of residence, but it is not necessary to the best of my knowledge.

Re: Question on ccp
Although I don't dispute dmg's comments, I would highly recommend renewing or transferring your permit after ANY move.
I say this because an LTC shows one's address. If someone were ever in a situation where they needed to provide credentials (to a LEO for example), and the address on the LTC doesn't match the address on a driver's license for example, it might invite a hassle.

Re: Question on ccp
Your license remains valid everywhere in PA, you don't need to replace it until it expires.
The UFA doesn't facially require that you notify either Sheriff of your new address, but there are several good reasons to do so:
If your license is revoked, they will send notice to your address. This gives you a 20-day window to challenge that revocation. If you don't tell them where you moved to, you lose that window, and you drive around with a revoked license.
When your license is about to expire, the sheriff will send a reminder to your listed address, 60 days in advance. It's helpful to get that reminder.
In a tense situation, such as after a self-defense shooting, you don't want to give the cops something to base an arrest on, such as inconsistency between your Driver's License and your License to Carry Firearms. Having sent a registered letter to the sheriff, you can tell the cops that the sheriff has your current info.
There's case law which holds that if the DA provides proof that you were not issued a LTCF by your county sheriff, then there's a presumption that nobody issued you one; you can rebut that, unless you lost your license, or it was seized when you were arrested and "lost" by the arresting officer.
I'd send a registered letter to your old sheriff, and maybe CC one to your new sheriff, stating that you have a license from the old county and you plan to renew it in the new county upon its expiration. Keep copies of the letter and the proof of delivery. Either that, or ask the new sheriff if you can replace your license; he'll probably tell you to just notify the old sheriff.
Your license to carry firearms is all that stands between you and a misdemeanor or felony conviction, it's cheap insurance to make sure it's beyond question.

Re: Question on ccp
Good point. When I moved, I called the courthouse to ask what to do and they told me they had logged my change of address.
They didn't.
I CC'd without a valid permit for 2 months because my renewel reminder was sent to my old address. I went to Norristown the day after I realized it was expired and got a little attitude from the deputy about letting my permit expire. I knew it was not the best time to discuss the laws about CC with an expired permit, so, I kissed butt a little bit and eventually left with a fresh permit. Live and learn. Just don't believe it when the deputy tells you, "Don't worry, I marked it down, you'll be fine".

Re: Question on ccp
I used to live in VA and had a non-resident ccp with PA. When I moved to PA I contacted the sheriff of the county that issued the permit. He said all that had to happen was to cihange the address which he did. I also had a resident VA permit. Once I moved to PA the VSP simply processed a change of address as well. In VA your local city or county law enforcement handles the resident permits and the State Police handles the non-resident permits.

Re: Question on ccp
Its still valid statewide until it expires.
We moved from Northampton to Carbon County. We still had years left until renewal.
The nice folk at the Northampton County Sheriff's office just asked to see our new Drivers License and printed us out new ones with the Carbon Address.
The additional advantage was that the Northampton ones are laminated drivers license size. Carbon County apparently still uses paper
Plus we were told you definitely do have to pay more $ for the full background check to the new county of residence and wait however long it might take.if you ever see my post edited...its most likely for speling :D
