Default I had a rather strange experience at the range today

I was at the range today to spend a bit of time sighting my new TLR-2 on an HK45. While I was there going through a box of FMJ to get it settled in (it was seriously off, right from the factory) at 21 feet, a couple rather rowdy guys came in, obviously friends out for a lark. They rented the biggest and baddest pistols in the place, a .50 AE Desert Eagle and a S&W 629 between them, and bought two identical targets at which to blow a whole lotta cash downrage:

Imagine, then, them seeing me and contemplating the personification of their target, and me two lanes off with a good idea of what was going through their heads. I made the usual explanations (those of you who know me understand) with as much aplomb as I could dig up. It was kind of obvious that it was, at least in part, a bit like talking to an (insert inanimate object here) that just wanted to bust some caps in a r_____d, if only on paper.

Anyway, the TLR-2 is magnificently adjusted, and I still have the same number of holes that I started the day out with.

    Have a peaceful day ...

I have seen something similar to this at Freedom Armory. A Guy rented a full auto mp5 (I think, I was trying to stay away!) blew off 3 magazines in about as much time as it took to load them, then came back out from the range and said "shit dog, that wuz the bomb, I gotta git me one 'o them shitz". The look on the poor guys face behind the counter was something to see.

Thank god for the bulletproof glass between the range.

King, I'm just trying to imagine the looks on their faces if you had been shooting at a picture of John Wayne or Rambo.

While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.

King, forgive me if I'm out of line in any way, but I didn't quite follow this part.

I'm a little bit lost here, but looks like you got your new gun sighted in pretty well!

King 5.45 is a Sikh. That 'terrorist' target bears a superficial resemblance to him.

Now if they only had any idea of what you got at home.

Nah, no resemblance at all...King's got lots more meat on his bones than that target.

He's a zombie Sikh? I thought zombies were mindless! Just goes to show you, you should log out when you're done posting, or your zombie could end up posting in your place after you've been turned!
