Re: Do you remember the first "real gun" you shot?
Do I ever remember!!
I was 12 and out hunting with my mothers boyfriend. I borrowed a 12ga. double barrel and some slugs for deer. All my buddies in school told me how slugs suck for deer! The very first day of the season and I see the big doe (it was big when I was 12 anyway) so I get the bead sight on that deer, and remember how slugs SUCK. SOOO I figured OK I ain't gunna lose my first deer cause I couldn't borrow anything but a shotgun, SO I pulled both triggers at the same time!! I laid there for a minute looking at the sky and wondering what the hell just happened and what the damn hiena sounding thing was standing behind me! Well my mothers boyfriend must have laughed his ass off for an hour over that one and YES I missed the damn deer BUT I learned quite the lesson!
So YUP I remember the first "REAL GUN" I shot and yes it is now DAMN funny to think about!!

Handgun? 5 years old, Grampa's H&R Sportsman. My Mom has a picture of me in the ugliest red plaid overalls you've ever seen leaning WAAAAAY back to hold it up because it's so heavy. It doesn't get shot much these days, but every now and again I get nostalgic...

Re: Do you remember the first "real gun" you shot?
The first real gun I shot was my Grandpap's JC Higgins 30.06 with a Mauser action...I was just 10 or 11 and he took me to the range to sight the scope in before hunting season. After he got it zeroed in, he let me take a few cracks at it! I can remember taking the little red lid of a gallon milk jug with it and I remember the feeling of my first precision shot! I was hooked on guns from that moment on!
