    Default sub-gauge tubes

learned of them, didnt find any info here, so im asking. to my knowledge sub gauge tubes allow you to fire smaller gauges in larger shotguns, say a 410 in a 12 gauge. my questions are: where do you get them? the ones ive seen are like $5k for a set of like 35, and i only want 2. also, is it true that it allows you to safely fire damascus barreled oldies safely with modern ammo (although admittedly smaller rounds)

anything else i should know about them? thanks

Mine are a full sub gauge set from Briley. Fitted to each gun.

Get your wallet out. $four digits for what I have. A universal set is/was about 600 bucks.

Mine are specific to my DT10 sent gun away and factory fitted full length tubes with screw in chokes fitted and returned .410, 28 gauge and 20 gauge. Six total removeable tubes. They make a short set without ejectors that are universal per gauge about 600 bucks for six tubes. There is a product called mini skeeters 30 bucks and they do make new factory ammo loaded for damascus.

i had heard of factory loaded damascus safe, but id also like to be able to shoot 410 so i can get my girlfriend into shooting too, and the only other rifle i have is 7.62x54r (not known for being forgiving to ones shoulder). i found these: http://gaugemate.com/shopcart/produc...roducts_id=100 but i dont know if theyll still be safe in damascus since theyre so short

I would not be afraid of those in .410 in your damascus bbl. I am not recomending nor telling you its safe, I would not be afraid of it though.

    Just buy a used $50-100 NEF/H&R shotgun. ...they come in 12, 16, 20, 28ga and 410bore flavors.

The Skeeters work fine. I've used a set of 28s in a 12 ga.

Savage four-tenners are still available on Ebay from time to time. 20ga/.410 and 12 ga/.410. They work best in break open shotguns with extractors.....if the gun has ejectors you have to be really careful not to snap the extractor off of the four-tenner tube. These are universal-fit tubes, 12 inches in length....centered and held in place with a rubber o-ring. They pattern surprisingly well at skeet distances.
There are three kinds of people in this world....them what's good at math and them what ain't.
