Default Spoke with a firearms virgin last night

A few nights a week I drive a shuttle van at a local university. Last night I spoke with a senior who has never fired a weapon of any kind. He thought that a 30 round mag somehow increased the rate of fire over a 10 round mag. He also believed Obama's lies about background checks. I set him straight and he thanked me. Before I knew it it was time to drop him off, I would have liked to talk with him a little longer.

GOOD!!! i do this all the time with antis or folks that are clueless and beleive the lies told to them on the news, just like the clown that thinks "clips" can only be used once. I still dont know what a clip is, they can ban them, since i only use "magazines" in my weapons. keep up the pressure we can not give up this fight

Good work! It's amazing how many people are uninformed or misinformed.

It amazes me how people buy into what they hear on the idiot box that emanates colored light and sound. If people would take the time to research and understand things for themselves, rather than listen to the network blow-hards, this country wouldn’t be so damn screwed up. Sounds like you were lucky enough to find someone open minded enough to listen.

Not gun related but on topic. I spoke to an acquaintance(50 something female) who didn't know what the Fed did.

The media is firmly Anti...I watched the national news last evening trying to catch what would be said about the CT bill...no where was it mentioned about being fingerprinted to obtain any firearm...or having to pass a training course...or obtain a permit to purchase ammunition...its craziness.

Keep up the good work on the antis and uninformed.

But there won't be any clip owners left to help you hold on to your magazines.
    - or -
There are still some older rifles that use clips to load the internal magazines.
    - or (according to Merriam Webster) -
    clipnoun
    Definition of CLIP

1: any of various devices that grip, clasp, or hook

    2: a device to hold cartridges for charging the magazines of some rifles;
also : a magazine from which ammunition is fed into the chamber of a firearm
I know it's sacriledge around here to use 'clip' in conversation, but - really - can't we get on the anti's about something more important than this one word, like maybe 'background check' = 'registration' --> confiscation, or how about:
'shall not be infringed' (I think this ones kind of a big deal)?

I bet if we were in a firefight, and someone ran low and asked for another 'clip', no one would actually give them a hair clip instead of a magazine. Please, can we let this one go? This is NOT the hill upon which *I* wish to die...

    As always, my 2¢

My Mosin Nagants still need their clips.

And if I end up with an M1 Garand, I sure as heck will also want my clips.

If an M1 Garand is the booby prize, I'll settle for a baker's dozen of 'em!
