Was told at the Sands casino that my LTCF wasn't a valid ID?
Recently made a trip to the new Casino in town, after relizing I had left my drivers license in my car I thought I could use my LTCF as proof of age.
Wrong.
The thug waiting on the gaming floor refused my entry saying that a PA LTCF is not a valid form of Indentification because of the lack of magnetic strip on the back. We exchanged words for a few minutes until the pit boss came over.
I just couldnt believe that an ID issued directly by the Lehigh county Sheriffs office with picture/ DOB would not work in Bethlehem because he couldnt run it through a scanner.
Was I wrong?

They may have an internal policy requiring something with a magnetic strip, but your LTCF is a valid, gov't issued ID. I've used mine for several different things.
As a matter of fact, I actually was prohibited from making copies of it at Staples for that very reason: They prohibit the duplication of "identification" documents.Last edited by gnbrotz; August 16th, 2009 at 07:08 PM.

I guess it all depends on what a business is willing to recognize as a valid id?

We accept it at Mount Airy.

That reminds me of when the TSA refused to accept my temporary driver's license, but would accept my school ID.
It doesn't have to make sense sometimes.

When did they start carrying around magstrip scanners????
Why does it have to have a mag strip if all they do is look at the info printed on the card anyway???

Used my LCTF as a photo ID when I went to the drivers license photo center in Gettysburg to get my new license. Told the lady it was a York County issued ID, it worked fine, but the two lady's working there I had to show my ID to somewhat gave me hell for not bringing my expired license. Any valid photo ID is required to get your license, bringing the expired one isnt a requirement. They just like to cut up the old ones.
