    Default Transporting to AK question.

If I was to drive to AK, for a hunt, what would be involved with transporting, mainly on the AlCan Highway.

Is it US, or PROC, or joint property?

IIRC, You are actually going into Canada so you need to set it up with them to transport the guns to AK. Or, if you know where you are staying, you can ship them to yourself in care of the hotel, motel, camp, outfitter, guide service, etc. Just make sure they know the guns are being sent (this shouldn't be a problem if it is a commercial hunting camp/outfitter). That area of Canada sees a lot of guns coming in/through for hunting so it shouldn't be a big deal with the border people.

find Canada's national website. So many US hunters go there, they actually have a link on the home page...LOL

Simply fill out a form, pay 60 bucks and blame, your in...the problem is not usually the Canadians...guess who??? yep, you guessed it, its our Customs border jerkoffs hasseling citizens returning.

Sir, is this your firearm? Yes. where did you purchase it? In the states, ie Pennsylvania....oh yeah? Where's the receipt? see where they take it?

To avoid this whooppla, US Customers and Border Protection (LOL hate that name) has a form you can fillout so you won't have to prove upon re-entry that the guns were owned prior to leaving the US.

There is some restrictions on Ammo and heavy taxes...limited quantities are usually best...or, since you are actually going to a US State, buy it when you get there.
