Almost got himself SHOT!

greetings all,

well to start this off and share an experience i had this morning about 3 am.

i am sitting at my kitchen table on my lap top, when someone from the neighbors house knocks on the door, looks distressed so i answer the door and he is (with very broken english) telling me he got mugged or jumped or something to that effect. so i let the dude in my kitchen, to offer any help i can. his left hand is bleeding, his right wrist is all swollen and red, so i guide him to the sink to clean his hand and as i turn to go get the phone, this jak grabs a knife out of the drain thingy, starts saying something very loud at me and is pointing at the knife, so seeing how this is not going good, i try to "Listen to him", to attempt to understand him, then he starts trying to walk towards me, (Glock on my hip), he stops about a foot in front of me as i am getting ready to draw down and opens the drawer and is looking for another knife, at this point his back is to me and i decide it is time to disarm this one, and as i make my move he tries to slice his wrist. i got his hands and arms locked so he couldn't hurt me or him and managed to almost rip his fingers off to get the knife out of his hands. and i literally throw this one out the door and call the police, not sure if he was gotten at this time or not, but if anyone sees my mop ( the one he decided to run off with) out there i would like it back. sorry for the horrible spelling and grammar, but still a little stressed, but just needed to get this out. thanks for listening.

Glad everything worked out and i'll keep an eye out for your mop but a picture would help identify it .


Seriously though its good how it worked out. The guy sounds suicidal and if you drew down on him he may have provoked you to shoot him. Bad situation but you are safe, get some sleep.

Wait...I'm confused...

Was this guy trying to hurt you or was he trying to commit suicide? You said he spoke in broken english, could you understand anything that he said? I would surely be worried if they found this guy dead by his own means.

I know it was a crazy/scary moment for you and I'm glad you where not harmed, but I'm still confused.
