Ammunition limits
Can someone point me in the direction of where I can find the laws that state how much ammunition I can have in my home without getting arrested for stockpiling?

Re: Ammunition limits
I think if the ammo begins to get more than 1 foot deep on the floors, your home gets labeled as uninhabitable and they remove all the animals from the home and the local news does a story about...
no, wait, that's cat poop.
nevermind.
I'm not aware of any law stating a limit on how much ammo you can have.
Could it fall under "explosives"?
I really don't have an answer, I've never had more than 2,000 rounds "stockpiled" before.I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

Re: Ammunition limits
You'll get arrested once your house collapses unto itself due to the weight of the ammo. But you'll get arrested for destruction of property and possibly disturbing the peace.
I dont see any stockpiling charges in the book though.==============
“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquillity of servitude than the animating contest of freedom, — go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen!”
~Samuel Adams
"I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it."
~Thomas Jefferson, 1791

I sure as hell hope there isn't any law against stockpiling... I'd be up shit creek without a paddle...

Re: Ammunition limits
Good lord, I have 2000 rounds of .40 - and I only have one pistol in that caliber.
There are no rules on stockpiling in PA (or elsewhere that I know of). Perhaps some refugees from NJ or NY could shed light on those states' practices.

Re: Ammunition limits
I believe that 1,000 pounds and over, small arms ammo is classified as a Class C explosive, but less than that it's ORM-D. Unless you're a commercial facility, you can store it whatever way you desire.
If fire is a concern, bullets cook off much like popcorn, with about as much potential damage to people as popcorn.

Re: Ammunition limits
Pounds, not Rounds. There are no regulations that I know of concerning loaded ammunition. Most of the codes and what not that I have heard of concern commercial structures, not residential. I personally subscribe to don't ask, dont tell.
