All MLs built since 1997 in that body style has always had that under the passenger seat. did you just get yours?

we have had our ML since 2000 and i have yet to put my pistol in there. ive always just stuck it in the little storage space infront of the gear shift lever.

FWIW probably would have been easier just open the passenger door instead of sitting in the driver seat and reaching down.
