Rifle as Gift?
What is the legality of buying a rifle myself and giving it to my girlfriend as a gift? She is a PA resident and is legally permitted to purchase firearms (PICS check less than a month ago).
Is it a straw purchase if you buy for someone who CAN legally own a gun? Just want to buy a .22 and don't want to drag her from store to store while I search for the right one.

To transfer a rifle in PA you don't need to go to an FFL to do it, plenty of people buy rifles as gifts. IANAL but I believe you are fine in doing this.

If she were to give you the money to buy her a rifle that would be a straw purchase. As your going to buy it as a gift that is OK in PA.
