    Default Attn: People in Philly

A friend of mine's van was stolen in Philly yesterday, I know chances are slim that he will get in back in decent shape much less with all his tools still inside, but I wanted to post a message he left on myspace on the off chance that anyone down there may know anything.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------

My van got stolen yesterday (05/17/07) from Frankford Ave, between Cheltenham Ave and the Frankford train station. I parked there to go down to the court house to counter all the assholes who wanted to "free Mumia" when I got back my van was gone. The police were beyond backed up yesterday due to a new 911 system being put in and all of their computers being down because of it, so they tried their best to help but it took them a good 8 or 9 hours to even be able to come out and see me.

My van is a white Chevy conversion van with no extended top, it has ugly teal detailing along the sides and a teal interior.
    Plate # GLW8239
    VIN # 1GBEG25Z5RF119665

I had a red GT Agressor mountain bike in the back with an over sized frame, a cannondale seat bag and a digital speedomiter that currently does not work.

I also had a 200 piece mechanics tool set, Metric and SAE open end wrench sets, tin snips, a flex beam torque wrench (All craftsman) as well as a few other random mix-matched socket heads and screwdrivers, shit like that. If I do not get my tools back I can not get the job I just applied for that pays enough to pay my bills and that is closer to home than an hour away.

If I don't get my van back I lose the job I have and my wife, daughter and stepson are out on the streets.

If anyone sees my van call the police and contact me.

Wow, talk about getting kicked in the teeth. I'm sorry I can't help due to geography, but I will keep my fingers crossed and your friend in my thoughts.

Does he mind his truck back with a few bullet holes in it. If it per chance were to make it's way across state, I would have to shoot the front tires out and my aim isnt that good ya know

I'll see if I can get a pic. As for the bullet holes it would just be one more battle scar.

Hey blueeyedbyrd, so sorry to hear about your friends predicament. I will keep him, his wife and children in my prayers! Please let us know if they need anything other than their van/bike/tools back, i.e., food, funds, etc.

    Take care,

    Rand
