I could barely make out what they were saying but it seems like the availability of illegal guns in the UK is quite high. But aren't they banned?

With the availability of guns all over Europe I can't image it would be that difficult to get guns into England.

They are only banned and not ever encountered in places like DC and Chitcago.

Several countries like the Czech Republic are pretty well tooled up with guns and have everything we have.

Criminals of course are getting guns into the UK or manufacturing them.

Keep in mind during the northern ireland conflict, the IRA managed to get tons of explosives, RPG's, machine guns and AK's into UK territory.

before I left and came here, I had a remmy 700 and O/U shotgun and a stunning custom TX200 air rifle
The only one I was not allowed to bring to this country was the air rifle, because it had a sound moderator!
You want to talk about ass backwards countries! I moved to it,lol
There are lots of long arms in the UK, it's pistols that really took a hammering after hungerford

That was really when I decided that I wanted to move, I'd been a long time sports shooter and hunter in the UK, my cousin works in firearms for the police there. She told me that they would "come a knocking" and they did, still remember my dad talking to them as they marched in the front door.
At least in the UK they still "knock"
Back on topic, yes, long guns are very available and eastern block pistols.

When I lived in the UK from birth in 39 to leaving in 68 (believing in "Go West Young Man"), from when I was 21 I had both small and full bore licences, and used to shoot for my high school ( public school in UK parlance) before then. Full bore Lee Enfields from the age of 12. I could not bring the weapons to the US as I was coming in through the People's Republic of Mass a few months after the Robert Kennedy assassination so had to sell some rather nice "pieces". I have made up for it in the last 45 years, but the number of guns available (as in Chicago, etc.,) is large. My sister was a JP in the Liverpool area and her stories about illegal guns makes you hair curl. Dave_n

A full scale civil war took place 15 years ago in central europe. Where they have no customs nowadays. They have more than enough illegal guns (pardon for the bullshit term, but ya'll know what I mean) in Europe. No need to bring legitimate gun ownership into equasion.
    Je suis déplorable
