marlin 120
i have a marlin 120 that i just got and it has a 40" barrel on it... i was wondering where i can find shorter barrels at and what would i be spending.... and if i cant find a barrel do they make a ammo extension for it or could i use something else.... thanx

A used barrel is the only way to go. Kinda hard to come by, and will set you back $100 or so.
If you want a tactical gun buy a 500 Mossy or 870 Remington. Other than that you could cut that 40" barrel down to 18" but it will lose it's choke.
You could sell the marlin for money towards a newer gun. Guys that shoot turkey shoots/x-cards would love to buy a gun with a 40" tube...they make great starter guns to convert into full blown custom card guns.

Never seen a mag tube extension for a Marlin 120 in person, or advertised.
If that's what you want to do, I'd suggest comparing the mag tube cap screw from your Marlin to those of popular models that have extensions available on the market.
Try Rem 870, Win 1200/1300, Mossy 500... You probably know someone with one of these models that will let you compare the threads. I'm not familiar with the Marlin 120, so that's the best I can suggest.
