By the power "invested" in me...???
OK, so I am like 99.999% certain that during a wedding ceremony the preacher, judge, ship's captain or other official celebrant should say "By the power vested* in me, I now pronounce you man and wife".
But many, many times on TV and movies or in writings you hear or read "By the power invested in me...".
And I recently attended a wedding where the preacher clearly said "By the power invested in me...".
Really strange how so many people, and so often, get this wrong.
Just an observation... of something that bugs me
*vest⋅ed
/ˈvɛstɪd/
–adjective
1. held completely, permanently, and inalienably: vested rights.
2. protected or established by law, commitment, tradition, ownership, etc.: vested contributions to a fund.

Re: By the power "invested" in me...???
I have no idea what the pastor said at my wedding. My wife got a case of the gigglefits halfway through and by the time the pastor pronounced us man and wife we were both laughing as well as everyone in attendence.
