Default If you are still wondering where all the ammo is going?

I picked this up at a DHS Federal Training Facility in another state Yesterday.

Thirteen 55 gallon drums averaging 850 pounds each!

    All mixed 38spl,9mm,357sig,40s&w,45acp,223 and 308

As you can see it is not brass thats been laying on a range for a year. The RO said this is from about June 08 until now. Approx. 1.1 to 1.3 MILLION rounds!!

Now figure that there is atleast 1 Federal Training Facility in each state, that A LOT of friggin ammo!!

    Holy crap dude!

I think you may be good on brass for a while

I found both triggers to be terrible to me so the triggers are on a scale to me.. The Glock was a crisper suck and the XD was a more mushy suck. They are in the same family, SR9 (heavy suck), Glock (crisp heavy suck), XD( lighter mushy suck), M&P(heavy mushy suck).

Thats the worst part. Between reselling some of the brass and remanufacturing the rest, this load will only last about 3 months!!

Not to bad till you get to about the 4th or 5th drum, then you start having nightmares about brass

I figure with all the training we shouldn't be reading about any ND's anytime soon.

I wanted to dump it all out in a big pile for a cool pic but I figured that when I asked the wife to help put it all back in the drums her answer would get delivered with a baseball bat!!

    for military brass go to

    govliquidation.com

be ready to bid upto $3.00 a pound and I would suggest you take the time and read about EUC (End use certificate) so there isn't any surprises AFTER the auction closes.

or if you are an FFL holder (not an 03) you can buy directly from DHS. If you are not an FFL then be prepared to sign a form certifying that your going to crush or melt the brass for the brass and not going to remanufacture it for it's original intended purpose. They say everything is sold under the GCA of 68 and that under GCA 68 it can only be sold to licensed FFL dealers for resale as ammunition components. From them it is running around $2.25 per pound but most loads are OVER 8,000 pounds of mixed brass.
