Re: In addition to armed security at schools..
$80 bucks a pop! Wow. Here's a cheaper idea. Let the teachers carry guns if they choose. Don't they already have all manner of back-ground checks to be teachers?
Oh, that's right. Leftists would rather call the police AFTER the shooting takes police. Because, yearly qualifications make them expert marksmen. And having an "expert marksman" 20 minutes away is ideal. These "untrained" teachers (who go shooting every weekend), would end up killing more kids in the "crossfire" than the shooter would.

Re: In addition to armed security at schools..
$80 x 100's of classrooms per school is a lot of money. My highschool had something probably close to 400 +/-.
I'd wager it would probably be the same cost to pay to train and arm teachers who wanted it/ placing an officer in the building. Not to mention a much more effective method than "lock the door and hope the shooter moves on"“Until they become conscious, they will never rebel.” - George Orwell, 1984

I edited my initial post to reflect the title which seems to have been over looked.

The gov. can take over the company, then make all the jam locks we need. It looks like cheap insurance to me.

Re: In addition to armed security at schools..
The device certainly wouldn't hurt, assuming the teacher was able to think under pressure and apply it quickly.
Remember, they already teach the teachers to lock the door and turn out the lights (and hide in the corner).
The cost is NOT an issue. Surely it would make for a great "Bake sale" type fund raiser. (instead of a stupid field trip to the art gallery somewhere).
It is NOT,,,,NOT a stand alone security device!!
Get the damned armed guards FIRST....then add these.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6mK2JYfZAmA When will America become America?
