    Default The Myth of Overlubrication

I always keep my guns lubed, but this might be a little bit extreme for me.

Not real sure what "point" they were proving, but ultimately that was pretty dumb.

Kind of silly. How abouts they take those two guns roll them around in the dirt a while after taking them out of the oil and then see what happens?

Found out many years ago over in the big sand box , sandstorms are kinda like being in a glass-bead cabinet. That fine windblown sand get everywhere. Even in the detent plunger of the ejection port dust cover. US military doctrine is if it moves , oil it. If it still sticks , oil it some more. Problem is that fine dust-like sand sticks to the oil and soon ya basically have lapping compound. Pulling the bolt on the M-16 feel like yer dragging it thru wet cement. Solution was a dry Teflon spray.

This thread is ripe for going 90 degrees into the gutter with all the 'lube innuendo' and whatnot. I'm being good though... not... going... there...
