preban mags...sell or keep?
I found a stash of "pre-ban" mags I bought years ago...both 20 rounders and 30 rounders consisting of colt, various milsurps to DPMS mags...
Thoughts on what to do with these? Been thinking of selling them to those that live in states where they can only own mags made before the AWB, and using the proceeds to pickup more p-mags...thoughts? more trouble than its worth? Im probably talking anywhere from 20-30 mags total.

Re: preban mags...sell or keep?
Definitely sell them, and help out our brethren behind enemy lines. You should be able to get about $25 if new, or $20 if used in decent shape, per mag.
I would do it to help out a fellow gun owner, more than to profit, but the profit part is a nice bonus.Sec. 21. The right of the citizens to bear arms in defense of themselves and the State shall not be questioned.
Sec. 25. To guard against transgressions of the high powers which we have delegated, we declare that everything in this article is excepted out of the general powers of government and shall forever remain inviolate.

Re: preban mags...sell or keep?
Correct me if I am wrong, but it does not matter if the mags are pre-ban. If a person, living in a state that forbids a "high" round count mag, currently seeks to purchase these items, then that person is liable to go to the slammer.

Re: preban mags...sell or keep?
you are wrong.
new York state has a copy of the old Federal AW Ban, with no expiration date.
this means, that they may only possess magazines over 10rds if they were manufactured before Sept 13th 1994.
Massachusetts also has a "preban" mag limit, of 1994...
preban still has meaning in some states, others, no meaning at all, and still others, fully prohibited if over 10rds(Cali) or 15rd (nj)

Re: preban mags...sell or keep?
What he said. "PreBan" means before the AWB. everything that was made before that can be freely traded even for our brethren behind enemy lines as justin puts it(I like it tho).
But price has gone up some what for obvious reasons.
Just check the price of preban AR lower in NY. You'll shit your pantsAudemus jura nostra defendere

Re: preban mags...sell or keep?
I'd put them on gunbroker and sell them, or if there are any NY members here that want them sell the mags to them or if you want to be a really nice guy offer 1 for 1 for brand new 30 round p-mags. Pre-ban means nothing here in not-so-communist-PA so why keep them?
