Muzzle flash
Took my Ruger SP101 2.25 inch 357 to the range today.
Shot cheap 38 lead stuff. Was quite inaccurate with that stuff. Then went to 158 gr. 357 mag PMC. More accurate, thumped pretty good. Then I shot my carry ammo: Fiocchi 158 gr. 357 mag SJHP. WOW. Not only was this ammo dead on accurate, but the Fireball these rounds emit from the barrel are huge. It was like a wall of fire each time I sent a round down range.
This got me thinking. What makes these Fiocchi rounds such fire breathers, and why are they so noticeably more accurate in my SP101?
The difference between this stuff and the target ammo seemed to be night and day.

Re: Muzzle flash
defense ammo is loaded hotter = more unburnt powder being burned outside the barrel.
P.S. THIS is a muzzle flash
