It's my brothers 21st, you know what that means...
Time flies fast! I remember like yesterday when he was still in high school.
Now he's almost graduating college and the day has finally come.
Like any good brother, I will be taking him down to the Erie County Sheriff's Department to get photographed and turn in his application for his LTCF! My birthday present to him is paying for it.
I will also be checking a firearm in the courthouse for the first real time. I'll let ya'll know how it goes!

Superb experience at the Erie County Courthouse!
Openly carried into the W. 6th St entrance. Two deputies standing outside noticed immediately but said nothing other than, "Hello" after I greeted them.
Entered, inquired to the officer sitting near the metal detector what entrance I needed to goto to check a firearm. He noticed I was carrying, and told me to proceed through the metal detector and a deputy will take me into the room and get me a key.
Took my firearm off, put it into their small little lockboxes (I swear, if I was carrying anything bigger than a 4in barrel, it might not have fit!)
Went up and waited while my brother applied. One of the deputies from downstairs came back upstairs for some kind of business and politely reminded me not to forget my firearm on the way out. I thanked him, and he was on his way.
Went back downstairs, they took my key from me and opened the box. They then left me alone in the room so I could re-arm.
Put my pistol back on, carried it openly out the door in full view of over 6 different sheriff deputies. Told them all thank you for their assistance.
Throughout the entire time I visited the courthouse, not once did I notice any displeasure or disdain towards my carrying a firearm openly. Everyone was extremely friendly throughout the entire time.
I wasn't even dressed that nice, I had a t-shirt and jeans on with matching sneakers.
I give Erie Co Sheriff's Department a big thumbs up.

Well thank you. In hindsight, it was difficult to do but I knew I was in the right so I wasn't bothered by it in the least.
Looking forward to OC dinner in Erie...
