My little girls first shooting session
I bought my 8 year old daughter a crossman 66 pellet rifle for Christmas and we finally had a chance to shoot it today. It is her first gun and first time shooting anything stronger than a $2 airsoft. She is much more interested in guns and shooting than her big sister.
I set up a little target area in our yard and let her have at it. At first she was having trouble useing the sights but it only took a few clip fulls before she was consistantly on target. Towards the end of our shooting she was actually getting within and inch or so of bullseye. She was beeming with pride when she started to hit the target. That made me feel like a million bucks, knowing I was sharing a moment that she will remember forever.
We even got her big sis to take some shots and she enjoyed it also.
What really made me proud was the fact the my girl was about 99% on saftey. She made then gun safe after each shot and did not sweep me with the barrel when handing it to me for pumping. She kept her finger off the triger untill ready to fire and even stopped me when I was going to put my airgun down without clicking the saftey.
Sorry for such a long post but I am a little extra proud of my baby today. Some people just plain suck.

Aww that's great! Love hearing stories like this!
I also get a little jealous of you who live in the areas you're allowed to do that in your back yard!!!!!!

Re: My little girls first shooting session
Thanks. I am not quite sure if I am allowed but they sell pellet guns in my county and I could not find anything against it on my townships website.
It isn't easy but I was able to set up a little shooting range and it was good enough for about 25 ft.
I am envious of thoes who can shoot firearms in their yard so I guess it is all releative. Nontheless I had a great time with my daughter today. Some people just plain suck.

Sounds like she's off to a good start! You've done well, and should be proud of yourself as well.

Excellent story. Keep up the good work! We need about 100-200 million more people like yourself
