QD Sling mount onto a keymod hand guard
I recently acquired a Stag 3T-M that came equipped with Diamondhead keymod hand guard. Trying to install a QD sling mount to the front of the guard and purchased a keymod adapter. Problem is that the QD connectors protrude through the adapter and need to extend into the keymod. The keymod holes are too small for the QD.
How are you guys attaching QD fittings to keymods? I am trying for a very low profile so please don't tell me that "friends don't let friends buy keymod", or to mount a rail section.
Thanks

Re: QD Sling mount onto a keymod hand guard
I have this one on my rifle but to be completely honest I haven't actually tried it yet. If it comes down to a purchasing decision I can get back to you once I get home, remember to actually try it, and reply. Let me know.

I've used that mount posted above. Quality part and very low-profile.

Re: QD Sling mount onto a keymod hand guard
That's a nice mount. Mine is similar.
The problem being that the QD pin on the attachments need to fit through the keymod hole to engage. The keyholes in the Daimondhead are smaller than the QD pin. You guys don't have this problem?
I e-mailed Diamondhead last week but have not heard back.

Re: QD Sling mount onto a keymod hand guard
No issue on my SLR hand guards.
I would just drill out the keymod hole behind the sling mount bugger than needed if that were the issue.
Or buy a new hand guard that accepts QD studs.
Another option, which sometimes works better. My one sling gets in my way during reloading using a 9 o'clock sling mount position. So I moved it to the top rail with this and that small rearrangement clears the sling for me
