An early Christmas present. All clear
I just wanted to let those who know my story and have been so very kind sending messages of support and hope that this now makes 3 years NED. For those of you who are, or know a cancer survivor, you understand how every time we hear the words "all clear", it's brings a renewed feeling of hope that someday we may hear the word "cured". If any of you have been recently diagnosed with cancer, or know someone who was, know that 3 years ago my chances of being able to send this message were slim to none. Statistics based on studies started years ago are meaningless, and if you have the will to be a survivor, you can be one.

Re: An early Christmas present. All clear
17 years and counting. I hate doctors, and i am stubborn, so I won’t go see one. Every pain brings on its worries, every day a new adventure.
There are days getting out of bed is a chore, and staying up is hard work, but one day at the time, I have made it past 17 years. Some days wondering why I bother, other days seeing reasons for every thin I have seen since that faithful day on 1991 when I found out I had 3 months to live.
In 94~95 when my doctor last saw me, he said “Don’t expect to ever be up more then 4 hours per day…” I started off by working in a volunteer kitchen where there was a nice couch reserved for me when I got tired, then went looking for real work, 4 hours 2 times per week, worked my way up to 24 hours per week, went full time, it was work eat sleep and wash… I was beat after every day. But managed to work 40+ hours there every day on my feet walking around for 5 years. Its been over 15 years now, I am back to full time work and never looked back.
Sure there are days I just need to lay back and be lazy, but most days, after I force my self out of bed, I am good to go..
First thing in the morning I thank My friend Jesus for a new day, and last thing at night, I thank him for a beautiful day.
Today is the first day of the rest of my life… Don’t ask me what I am doing tomorrow; I have things to do today!
Hang tight, you can do the same thing and more. One day at the time.
One day at a time, sweet Jesus
That's all I'm asking from you
Just give me the strength to do everyday
What you'd have me do
Yesterday's gone, sweet Jesus
And tomorrow may never be mine
Lord help me today, show me the way
One day at a timeSkeet is a sport where you are better to hit half of each bird then completely blast one and miss the other completely.

Great news! Keep fighting. Good to hear about people that are beating it. Usually it's the bad news.
