What do you carry your AR in?

I want a hard case for my carbine. Something that doesn't scream gun, and compact. What does everyone use?

I've been thinking of a compact case that I could keep my AR in in 2 pieces! It is so compact when the upper and lowers are split...just need a way to keep them from rattling and getting scratched.

Bulldog makes a very nice, economical softside squarish sort of case, which is good if a) you have a flattop with optics b) a carry handle without optics, and c) DON'T have a tactical forerail, like the one on my POF415 (D'OHHH! ). I would have bought it, EXCEPT it simply wouldn't fit in the precut foam insert.

For 'discreet,' there's ALWAYS ye olde guitar case! Just gotta hope a pretty girl doesn't walk up & ask you to scrub off a tune for her...

I went cheap and bought an Uncle Mikes 33" nylon tactical gun case. I have an ACOG scope mounted on the carry handle so it barely fits both length and height wise. I'm going to see how I like it for the AK and find something (a lot) nicer for the AR.

For my carbine, I have a black "diamond plate" double shotgun case that I got from Cabela's. I can no longer find them at the store. All I know is that is isn't the winchester one. It is pretty stealth. So Stealth my neighbor who is a liberal music teacher yelled across to me and said, "I didn't know you played Guitar" For the new 20" rifle, I picked up the cheap SKB case from Cabelas. It is really nice, and at least $100 less than the pelicans.

Take my ar to the range lots...softcase is the way to go. Midway has them for like $20.

I have a pelican case for the carbine but it never gets used. I just chuck the rifle in the truck and go.

For the SPR I use an eagle drag bag since it has optics, can, etc.
