LEGISLATORS TO SPEAK IN OPPOSITION TO POTENTIAL FURLOUGHS
LEGISLATORS TO SPEAK IN OPPOSITION TO POTENTIAL FURLOUGHS
A group of legislators from Central PA will hold a news conference today to voice their opposition to Governor Ed Rendell's budget impasse-related threats of furloughing state employees. The legislators said they are hopeful that a budget deal can be reached by the June 30 deadline to avert the shutdown of government services and threatened furloughs of 25,000 employees, but they consider it wrong for employees to be used as a negotiating tool. This press conference will take place at noon in the Capitol Rotunda. Check PLS later today for our coverage of this event.
