They can't spend that kind of money, there's football stadiums to build.

$125,000/year times 130,000 schools equals 16,250,000,000 (16.25 trillion per year). Our govt pisses away money daily but do you want to leave that yearly debt behind to the 99.99999% of the kids that survive to pay? With interest.

Apparently we're already paying that with the 240,000 principals in the country. I'm sure there are other administrators in each school district that are making just as much. Maybe some of the programs and administrators that aren't really necessary to an actual real education could be cut?

I figured at the high end including benefits. It could be done.

What debt? They can adjust their budgets to fund it. But like streaker said, turf fields and such are more important than saving kids' lives.

Winner! I'll trust your number, so it's double that.

I'm looking for advice from either LEO or SRO or equivalent personnel on what the realistic abilities would be for someone of my age with no previous LE background, to get trained and work/volunteer at *any* school, in any capacity. I want to do my part as a parent and citizen to protect our children. I am not looking for politically-biased "don't send you kids to public school" answers. I'm looking for how I can help be a part of a solution.
You might be surprised. My kids go to a charter school, and it doesn’t cost us out of pocket, there are solid online cyber options, which may or may not be an option for you.
