AR build advice
I'm building an AR and have a stag stripped lower receiver and I was wondering if anybody had any advice on parts that are a must to upgrade. I know I'm in the right place to ask this.

Re: AR build advice
That depends on your intended usage and what type of gun feels best to you.
Elaborate a bit.

Re: AR build advice
It's mainly going to be for target shooting. I was wondering what parts to be most concerned about from an accuracy standpoint.

Re: AR build advice
Krieger would be my first choice........
But... realistically....at $480 just for the pipe, most people won't pay for the extra .25-.5 MOA....what's the budget?

Re: AR build advice
First, get a good barrel..........and free float tube.
That's about it.
Really.
A good trigger will help you shoot it, but almost all the rest is in the barrel quality and letting it do it's work. Quality of chambering also means a lot.
At the top tier you have the Krieger, Pac Nor and....some others. These will get you in the .5MOA -.25 MOA range.
But.....White Oak, Compass Lake, JP and even some Olympics will get you in tight to .5 MOA - 1 MOA...at half the price. Most decent varmint shelf guns are capable of 1 MOA with handloads.
Edit: Sheesh, all that and I went and forgot the one propped up in my bedroom......... .5 MOA guranteed.

Re: AR build advice
My budget is around 1200.00 I don't want to go crazy it's not for competition.
So a good barrel and trigger how about a free floating barrel ? Should I consider that to be important. Thanks for all the help I'm getting I knew the experts were here.

Re: AR build advice
Yes, floating the barrel definitely helps.
Any decent shelf varminter will work or you can afford semi-custom by pinning a trick upper to your lower (Using a Gator upper and Jewell/Timney trigger would get you in around budget assuming you aren't counting glass in the price). White Oak and ADCO used to sell lower parts kits without the trigger if you're planning on an aftermarket trigger anyay.
Good barrel (non chrome lined, but chrome moly steel and stainless steel barrels are fine), free float tube and a decent trigger and you're in business. A Wylde chamber will also help accuracy a bit over the 5.56 chamber and you can still shoot .223 and 5.56 ammo. Barrel length has no real effect on accuracy, just bullet velocity.

Re: AR build advice
That depends on how much you are willing to spend......or learn how to do yourself.
