    Question Panic buying 2016 poll

We've seen it before, panic buying before an election or after a mass shooting. People picked gun shops clean after the Sandy Hook shooting 3-1/2 years ago. Now we've got a double-whammy - gun-grabber Hillary Clinton running for president, and the worst mass shooting ever in the USA. Do you think another panic is imminent? If so, are you making any purchases or sitting tight? Have you seen any evidence already of increased sales or shortages?

I've been preparing for the worst for a few months now. I'm not buying at inflated prices, however.

I picked up several AR and AK mags over the Holidays. I also bought a few WASRs and a few stripped AR lowers.

Same here. I've already stepped up my buying so I won't be tempted to spend when the panic hits, and it's going to hit. If nothing else happens event wise the election itself was going to ramp up some panic anyway

I stacked ammo and mags deep after things settled down last time. Added a couple "assault rifles" too so I'm good.

Local dealer said yesterday (Sunday) one distributor had just over 3500 ARs in stock on the dealer-only website. This AM at 1000, there were thirteen (13) left.

Has the last round of panic buying ever stopped? Haven't seen any .22 in Walmart in at least 2 years, I occasionally see some 9mm, and the odd box of 45. Most of what I see there now are all fudd rounds.

I ordered some bulk ammo yesterday. My stash had dipped some, but with this purchase, I'm topped off again and feeling panic-proof. I got this message from TargetsportsUSA when I placed my order - DUE TO A HIGH VOLUME OF INCOMING ORDERS,PLEASE NOTE THAT IT CAN TAKE UP TO 2-3 BUSINESS DAYS BEFORE THE ORDER LEAVES OUR WAREHOUSE. But I just received another email that they mailed it late today.

IMHO, it doesn't take many people buying more than usual to clear out the pipeline. As soon as the shelves start looking a little bare, buying picks up even more, then BAM! Hoarders, profiteers, and crybabies. Buy it cheap and stack it deep.
