Default Holy crap, it's decision time! Which of these SA 1911s should I buy?

So, I have a decision to make, and unfortunately I can't afford both!

I can buy this custom shop Springfield 1911 made in 1992 with 3000 rounds through it for $750 shipped:
    http://www.thefiringline.com/forums/...d.php?t=289705

    OR

I can buy a Springfield loaded 1911 combat in stainless/black, 1000 rounds through it, for $675 shipped. It looks like it's in fantastic cosmetic condition. Seller says 90-95%. I have pics of it, but they're too big to host here. It's this one:

Which one would you buy?? I don't know what to do!!! I'll be using whichever gun I buy for target shooting and OC.

    Thanks!

buy the combat! don't buy a custom - customize them yourself to your liking if you feel the urge to do so.........

$75 for a gun from the custom shop plus hardchrome plus the Bomar... I would go for the custom shop gun. I'm not crazy about front serrations so that's a plus for me too.

I think I'm buying the custom. The seller of the combat just told me he had a trigger job done and look at this picture of the trigger. It looks butchered.

Why not just spend the $750 on a NEW Black Stainless Loaded?

If you shop around, you can fine them for $750ish.

**ETA: Budsgunshop's last pricing on a Black Stainless "Tactical Combat" was $727 Shipped.

Call them and CDNN and see what they have.

The back stainless finish is pretty, but it's also very fragile. Carry that gun for a couple of months and run through a course and see what it looks like. They're beautiful until they get used IMHO.

Buy the custom. The thread on TFL says the custom is Sold Pending Funds...if you made the deal, don't back out on it. You have an inspection period from what you said in the other thread.

I'd go for the Custom myself...but in the end, it's all up to you and your tastes! Keep us posted...

Agreed on the custom. Loaded SA guns pop up all the time, Custom Shop guns... don't. You're also getting a much better built gun (unless it was messed with) for the money.

I'd have to agree with NineseveN on the finish issue...I've seen a few of those with some miles on them, and the finish goes south FAST.
