Accurate Stats on Gun Owners Being Shot

Does anyone have any accurate info to counter the BS that I often hear about "you know that by having a gun in your house you're 5X (or 10X or whatever unsupported number) more likely to be shot or have a family member shot?" Or a couple other similar made up stats with the same idea. I'd like to have a good answer with evidence to shut down whatever numbnut says this to me next.

Tell him to prove it(cite it), and with something better than what he heard on the local 6 o'clock news. Then follow that up with, "otherwise that's bullshit, but I already know that".
