    Default Milled AK 47 Receiver?

I would like to build an AK 47.

I saw some Bulgarian AK 47 parts kits, for milled receivers on Gunbroker..

Does anyone know where to, or who to contact about getting a milled receiver, so I could build one?

Online auctions, luck of the draw in a gunshop, or mill one from a block of steel.

I dont think there are any US manufacturers doing a production milled receiver.

Arsenal USA has made a few models of milled AK receivers in the past. I belive the SAM-5 and SAM-7 were milled.

    http://www.arsenalinc.com/sam7.htm

They fetch a high price if you can find them. I saw a few SAMs that were modeled after the original version of the AK-47 (blonde furniture, non-ribbed receiver cover) going for $1200+ on GunBroker.

As for buying a lower for a build, I also have not heard of anyone making milled ones, just stamped or sheet metal blanks.

Ack! For $1200 I'd get something other than an AK receiver/gun. lol

Yeah, I saw the Arsenal AK's a while back, and they are getting around $1500-1800 right now.

I own two AK 47's already, but I wanted to build one on my own.
I figured, if I am going to build, why not get the best. It would be cheaper than buying one for over $1000, and I would have fun doing it.

It's just like building your first AR....
That particular rifle feels totally different than the others.

    Here you go man.

    http://www.firinglineoklahoma.com/ak.../standard.html

Call for price. They have many options, sidefolder, underfolder and standard.

    Hope that helped.

with milled you need to pay attention to what furniture you are interested in. I have an old Arsenal USA SLR-95. It has a thumbhole stock and i wanted to put a regular stock or a folder on it. I ordered a stock and pistol grip from tapco. The pistol grip went on perfect. in the fine print it states it may require minor fitting on milled recievers. After about 2 days of fitting with a dremel it just wasnt right. The gun is solid as a rock. Just somthing to keep in mind when u are getting parts for your build
The only easy day was yesterday
Does anyone know the number for 9-1-1?

Yeah, I did some research, and I am aware of that.
I was looking at the Bulgarian parts kits specifically for milled receivers.
