Springfield Armory XD Sub-Compact 3"
I am wondering if anyone knows of a dealer in the Butler, Lawerence or Mercer County area that carries the SA XD Sub-Compaxt 3"?
Thanks,
Floyd

I know Sportsman's Supply in Butler usually has one. I'd give a call before you took the trip to be sure though.

Re: Springfield Armory XD Sub-Compact 3"
I would definately call. I work in Blair County and went after work on day to buy one. They didn't have any so I had them order one for me, that was early February and I am still waiting. Called the gun shop several times and they keep telling me it is on backorder. I have heard of other shops in the area having them but they want $500+. The gun shop I ordered from is the best price I have found - $461.00.
I emailed Springfield and asked them if demand to that much higher than production. Here is the response I got:
We are producing the XD Subcompact 9mm pistol on a regular basis. There have been 2 shipments per month in Jan, Feb & March. Unfortunately, I can’t tell you where they end up. We ship to distributors, and our distributors ship to the dealers.
Your best bet is to do as you’ve done, and place an order with your dealer; and for your dealer to be on a “waiting list” with his distributor. The XD is the most popular handgun in the country right now. We appreciate your patience.
Thank you for your continued interest in Springfield Armory products.

It'll be worth the wait. I love my XD-40 (service model) a lot! I can't wait to get their compact .45.

Re: Springfield Armory XD Sub-Compact 3"
Thanks for the kind reply's. I stopped at Dukes in New Castle today and they said they had 15 XD's on order and had been told they were on a priority shipment date because they have a gun show on Friday. The dealer told me that he wasn't holding his breath. So I'm going to check back this Thursday and Friday to see. The $461 price is really good though, might be worth the wait.

Re: Springfield Armory XD Sub-Compact 3"
Does anyone that has the 3" XD use it as a concealed carry weapon? If so what holster do you use and does it carry well? I saw a forum post when I googled the gun where the guy had a pouch style holster that carried in the front. He said it was very comfortable. Floyd

Re: Springfield Armory XD Sub-Compact 3"
i paid 479 for mine last year / i got the service 9mm and was looking for a used one in 40 cal / have only seen one for sale (here in fact) but in went too fast for me to get it / i thought having the 9mm for practice and the 40 cal for carry since they are both the same frame and size/ why do the different barrel thing when for a little more money you got two guns

Sporting Goods Discounters had a compact XD under glass today. Not sure what caliber it was. They had a couple calibers and sizes there though.

Re: Springfield Armory XD Sub-Compact 3"
Where is Sporting Goods Discount at? Was it the 3" sub-compact? I would go with a 40 if it were available. I just happen to have ammo for 9mm and thought why change.
