Glock 27
Last year I traded my Ruger P90 45cal for a Glock 27 40cal.
So far I have no complaints. I like the comfort, concealment, size. Actually I cant really complain about any thing on the G27 other then I like the safty decocker on the P90.
I guess I say all this to ask others on this forum, what they believe, reviews, etc about this weapon?
I just bought a blackhawk serpa 2 holster..... any one else use this holster?

Re: Glock 27
I have a Blackhawk SERPA for my Glock 23. I recently got a Mitch Rosen holster & now the Blackhawk hardly gets used except for working around the property. I like the adjustability of the Blackhawk & how it can be used as a paddle or belt holster. It works fine, but I just prefer a good quality leather holster.

Re: Glock 27
My only "complaints" about my G27 is ammo cost and recoil. Once in a while, it bothers my wrist to shoot more than a few mags.
I don't care for any extra levers/safeties on a carry gun, so the Glock works just fine for me. Keep it in the holster and there's no need to worry about cocking, de-cocking, or accidents.
I have a SERPA for my G19 and the G27 works in it as well. Nice for the price, but is a lousy choice if concealment is a concern.(doesn't keep it close enough to the body)I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

Re: Glock 27
I ankle carry it as a backup to my H&K .40 P2000. I bought it used. The recoil is more than the H&K but it is just as accurate. I put Trijicon tritium night sights on mine, great move. I did refinish it in Duracoat, and it held the plastic just fine but not the metal, I would send it out for a professional finish if I had to do it over again.
I prefer the belt holster instead of the paddle if I am carrying it primary, and it hides it fine under a light jacket. I like the idea that it is permanently attached to me as I never know what crazy situation I might get into.
My mags have a +1 or finger grip...I wouldn't be able to manage it well without as I have larger hands. How pissed are you gonna be if you die before the Zombie Apocalypse comes? - - IANAL

Re: Glock 27
The 27 does what it is supposed to, well. If the recoil is heavy...then the 9mm may be a more fitting option for the shooter. I hate .40S&W in general, but if you like it, then the 27 is good sub-compact platform for it.
Regarding the SERPA, I think it's a mass-marketed holster which does nothing well.
If you want a concealable kydex holster, get a Raven, Comp-Tac, Desantis, etc. If you want good reliable retention, get a Safariland SLS/ALS, or a Galco thumbsnap.
If you do a search on the SERPA, you'll find that plenty of people have specific issues with it. You'll also see plenty of blanket "i like it" statements.
Personally, I used it, and have little use for them anymore.

Re: Glock 27
I love it!
The Evolution series from Fobus sits very close to the body. I pull my belt an extra hole tight, and that holster is not going ANYWHERE.
I love it because I can take the holster and gun off in one piece quickly while sitting down.
When I pull up to work, I just loosen the belt, twist the paddle sideways, and pull it out while turning it clockwise.
Takes less than 2 seconds. I lock it in my car. Once I leave work I sit down in the car, unlock the gun, throw the holster on, tighten my belt, and done!
If you have never tried a paddle, at least try one in a shop. I think you will be happy with it.

Re: Glock 27
I love my G27 and fire it regularly, I also use the Serpa Holtster on the paddle for ease of removal. I am used to the Serpa holster since I used one for my Berretta in the Army. I am willing to look at others but I guess I will get around to one day. Never had a problem with a ND with any pistol I have used but I have had over 32 years of keeping my finger off the trigger until I am ready to shoot re-enforcement.
