Default Looking for good Left Handed Flintlock

    Hi folks,
Looking for recommendations on a left handed flintlock. I like the idea of a removable breach plug for ease of cleaning. I really like the TC Firestorm, but I don't believe they make a lefty.

I've been shooting flintlocks for many years and have a very nice Charles Daily, but it has a 1 in 66 twist. Only good for round balls. Looking for a 1 in 48 to shoot other types of bullets.

    Thanks for any info.

Being a lefty sucks don't it?

I use a Traditions Pa pellet flintlock. It can use pellets or powder. 1:48 twist.

I think the Lyman Deer Stalker (?) is also available in left handed.

What really sucks is that I am right handed, only shoot left because of eye dominance.

    Thanks for the suggestions.

I looked in their catalog a few years ago when I was shopping around and I didn't see a lefty flintlock. They had a percussion lefty.

That's amusing since I'm left handed and right eye dominant.
I’m so completely inept with my right hand that I just deal with it.

Have you ever tried shooting maxiballs or some other conical out of your rifle? You may be pleasantly surprised with the accuracy at what I consider to be "flint lock" range. That is less than 100 yards in my book.

I use the Hornady jacketed Hollow Point XTP Mag Bullets with sabots. .50 cal. sabot w/.45 cal. XTP Mag bullet 250 gr. Very effective if not traditional.

Yea I have tried them, but with the slow twist of 1 in 66 they didn't stabilize well and were all over the place at 50 yds.

Anyone know a custom barrel maker that can produce a removable breech? something I can fit to my existing stock and lock.

I stopped in a shop last night and looked at a Traditions lefty. The trigger pull was terrible. My current gun has a set trigger that makes the second trigger very light. I really like that trigger.

Well I may have found what I am looking for.

I checked the Traditions Web Site and saw the PA Pellet series. They have a LH, double trigger flintlock with a removable breech plug. They also have the single trigger, but I may have to have that worked to lighten the pull.

I've never seen a Traditions with a removable plug. Hopefully this will be a good solution.
