With that budget I would have to include an M-16 or fully auto AK.

    uhh...thats 6k not 60k

I would blow it on a nice 1911 to pass on to the kids, and a high end AR-15 or a kickass Rem. 700...something collectable that will appreciate is in order here.

Well if it was me I would go for an

    AR i like stag M-2T $1150
10 mags (min) like Magpul. $225
EoTec or Aim Point optic say $500
2k nice brace case ammo $1000
say another $500 $1000 to dress up the AR how you like (sling, new stock, grips, so on...)

Then i Would go a good combat pistol
Say Sig 226 SCT or Black Water in 9mm $995-$1200
    2k rounds of 9mm $500
Holster I like the BlackHawk Serpa CQC $35
Optional More mags for pistol $40-$65 each

Total $5610.00 not counting extra mags for the pistol
    ** all figures are estimated

As you said before i would go two big ticket items and lots off goodies for them.

You said you have some shotguns if you do not have a good HD Shotgun i would put that on the list can get one for 400 or less

I have everything on that list.

PS. If you did go with my list it could take some time to get, because everything is out of stock and or back ordered but you could get it later rather than sooner.

Sorry I had to do it.

Anyway, get what you like. I treat almost all of my firearms purchases like, "Would this be the great gun if it was my only one."

Unfortunately, 6k will not get you close to a FA m16 or ak. Full auto m16's run 10k and up and full auto ak's start around 12k.

You might get lucky with a FA uzi for 6k but you could definitely get an m11/9for around 3k.

You say the goal is to prepare for conflict due to crime in your area. You already have carry guns and shotguns. I would suggest spending on security measures other than firearms basd on that scenario.

I love to think of how the toy collection would grow if I had $6000 to spend, but since you mention the crime wave, and increasing readiness, I'll be the downer to suggest maybe putting that $6000 towards a different king of home security. You said that you have a few shotguns, and a few handguns, so you're off to a good start if someone breaks in. How about decreasing the potential for break ins? I'd work towards better locks, heavier doors, motion lights, alarm system, barbed wire, moat, sniper towers...

I would say to spend it on ammo, range time and a couple good carbine and handgun training classes. But if you're set on buying another firearm I'd go here http://www.summitgunbroker.com/Uzi_SMG.html

5 years ago I got a divorce & then I sold my Sign Company.
Cashed in real good & bought all the firearms I wanted.
I'm not going to list all of that but here is one I will list.
(I currently own 80,000 rds of select ammo!)
This should be high on your wish list
The best weapons in the world are useless w/o AMMO

    Oh It's all Federal...All New....no re-loads
I'll also be honest, I didn't set out to buy so much.
I've always been obsessive in what ever I'm into
I always seem to go overboard. I don't regret
buying so much especially since the election
but it still kinda freaks me out when I set & look
at it all. It gives me a: Holy shit what am I
going to do with all this? Look on my face.

HEY..but if the shit ever hits the fan I'm going
to need help with the fort. Got plenty GUNS & AMMO
But can always use someone to help! Catch my drift?
I'm in Augusta, Georgia if any of you are near
