Default Just put xds 45 osp on layaway.. Anyone a fan?

I've wanted a small 45 for carry and just to shoot as I've reloaded 45 for years. Came across an xds 45 and liked the way it felt. I thought I was going in to get the shield 45 but ended up with the xds. Good or bad thoughts welcome...

I had an older XDS 45 for a very short time. I like 45 and absolutely love my HK 45c, but I tell you what... that XDS 45 hurt like hell.

Obviously your own experience may be different, but it was too snappy for me.

Do the "plunk" test to check cartridge OAL. Particularly, if you get failure to feed or light primer strikes. I have one and it is a good size/caliber carry gun. But, I don't like to shoot a lot of rounds out of it per range session.

Thanks guys. Looking forward to shooting it when I pick it up. Expecting it to have some recoil. Will do the plunk test on my reloads

Lower capacity and being a handful (with recoil) would personally steer me away. But if you can shoot well with it, no issue...

I have almost zero experience with the XDS, especially in .45acp. But, I have this weird hard to defend soft spot for the original XD platform (HS2000s and early XDs). F, I still have a 25yr old 4" XD40 that I carry and train with regularly - I'm at home now carrying it AIWB in a new custom T.Rex Sidecar 2.0... It's almost time to put barrel number 4 into it.

If you actually train with that XDS and are highly accountable with it, then it's the one for you. I think that's what matters most - train often and realistically. But, I dunno... I try to keep learning everyday too... Good luck to the OP ;enjoy the new weapon!
