camping at sgl
ok, this isint technically related to firearms persay, but i dont know where else to put it. i was wondering if you are allowed to go camping on the state game lands property, say out of hunting season or something like that? i searched both the forum and google but didnt find anything. what i really need is a place we can go and not have to pay to sleep outside, so if anybody knows of anyplace decent within a county or two of bucks id love to hear about it. preferably a place that isint going to give me shit about bringing a firearm with me, be it for bears or just so im not without. there, i brought it back to firearms, now it fits.

Re: camping at sgl
i am pretty sure camping is generally not allowed on SGLs.
i am 100% positive that primitive camping is allowed in state forests, though. and there is no fee. you do not need a permit as long as you do not stay at the site for multiple nights or have too many people.
you can check out state forest camping regulations here:
http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/forestry/camping/index.aspx
also, primitive camping is allowed in the allegheny national forest (and other national forests, but that is the only one in PA.)
(do note that state forests and state parks are two diiferent things. primitive camping is generally not allowed in state parks.)F*S=k

Re: camping at sgl
Camping is only permitted in designated areas of SGLs that are on the Appalachian Trial... Otherwise, if caught by a WCO, I'm sure you would get fined and told to pack up camp...

Re: camping at sgl
Hunting license fees pay for the SGLs in general.
State Game lands arent for jogging, hiking, camping, climbing, walking your damn dog, mountain biking, and a slew of other activities that idiots assume they can use them for.
SGLs are not PARKS, and the people who are using it for hunting and game related activities are the ones who care."Oderint Dum Metuant" - BMFH
