Default Well finally I've joined the paying 'club'

Been wanting to subscribe for a while but money has been so tight we were watching every penny. Well things have gotten better and I thought it was time to throw some support behind the mouth

Was going to go the next level over gold but then decided I would split it up and set up both Tootie and I as gold members.

    So the 'mouth' has arrived.

Great, a freakin' zombie in the ranks... there goes the neighborhood!

While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.

Thanks DC! Your contribution helped a lot, our numbers are way down this month on subscriptions.

That's kind of surprising. Has this been a trend for the year, or is it just this month?

eta: Dan do you have idea on the % of members that have a paid subscription vs. those who don't?

No, the trend has been spectacularly upwards until this month. We started selling forum subscriptions in October of 2008, these are the income growth %'s over the previous month (skipping November because it was a disproportionate drop because TONS of people bought subscriptions when we first sold them):

    December 2008: +14.66%
    January 2009: +31.66%
    February 2009: +21.95%
    March 2009: +10.04%
    April 2009: +8.49
    May 2009: -60.01%

As you can see after February growth started slowing, this month it's like someone slammed on the brakes, granted we're only 2/3 of the way through the month so I doubt that number will be as bad by the end.

As far as actual % of users who have subscriptions, it's very low. As of this post there are 339 active subscriptions out of 19,077 registered members, that works out to just under 2%.

I don't personally see this as a giant problem, but I think it does mean maybe I need to promote it a little more (not really in my nature.)

Make no mistake though, PAFOA covers all it's bills and we have other sources of revenue. We're not going out of business!

I will admit I was surprised by those numbers. (2% seemed very low) When I started searching for PA gun info on the Internet I was incredibly impressed with the openness of this forum. I made a few knuckle headed newbie mistakes, and I have forum experience, but most of the folks were very helpful. Since joining here as a silver patron, I have also rejoined the NRA, and the FOAC. I got my education here and added my cash to support those other locations.

The rates are not expensive for any of these groups and varying prices make it affordable for almost all!!

    I don't mind paying for a great educational/awareness site!!

    Very interesting data.

Dan not sure if you really need to promote PAFOA, as there are 19,000+ members ... just need to find a way to get more of the registered members to take the steps to become active subscribers.
