Anothe Obama pick with tax problems

Tom Daschle who Obama has picked to head the Health and Human Services Dept has unpaid tax issues. It seems he owed $128,203 + $11,964 in interest for 2005 2006 and 2007. Here's the kicker, he decided to pay after he found out Obama was going to nominate him. For a party who claims it's a privilege to pay income taxes they have a hard time owning up to it. Well, he did promise "change".

The even sadder part, as you pointed out, is that Daschle was a US senator and did not think it was important enough to pay his taxes until he got caught.
Time for an investigation into all federal officials. They nailed Al Capone for income tax evasion, maybe we can bust some of these goobers the same way.

The answer to this, of course, is to have the IRS come pick these guys up in the middle of their hearings, in front of all the cameras, for tax fraud and tax evasion (assuming they meet the requirements). Fast track their trial, and if appropriate, send them to jail. It would probably help to have congress, the President and VP, and the cabinet on the mandatory IRS audit list under the supervision of the GAO and at least one member of the private sector.
