    Default My first OC

So as I explained in my new member post I am a supporter of Open/ Concealed/ Constitutional carry but as of yet in my short career carrying have not OCed.

Well I got to thinking last night while laying in bed trying to get to sleep that I should do it the next day! I only had a few places to go to that day and it would be a good confidence builder for me to just get out and do it! So I did, and below is my tale (Spoiler alert! Nothing much really happened... which is a good thing )

So I started my day off with heading out to the car dealership to continue the process of getting a new-to-me vehicle as my last car was lost in a flood a few weeks back (R.I.P. Dodge Neon... you served me well.....)

I OCed at the dealership with only a few glances from employees down at my Ruger SR9c holstered at my side. No one was less apt to attend to me nor was anything said to me to indicate they were uncomfortable.

(I kind of cheated on this one, as I had been there several times before CCing which I assume they didn't notice so they got to know me before they saw me carry.)

Later in the day myself and my Girlfriend went out to a lovely fancy dinner at Wendys and no one had a problem with me OCing, however the place was relatively empty and I think the employees were just happy to have customers.

A few hours later my Girlfriend and I were bored and the range was closed so we opted to go grab some ice cream at the Cold Stone. I OCed there as well and none of the employees cared, though my Girlfriend did say at least one of them did glance down at it but seemed unfazed.

One customer who left a few minutes after we arrived who apparently hadn't noticed I had a firearm on my side, upon leaving and walking along the glass store front, looked down and saw my handgun and a look of disgust came upon his face. I didn't see it as I was sitting away from the wall but my Girlfriend was kind enough to inform me to which I simply smiled and shrugged as I was doing nothing wrong and I believe the man knew it as nothing was said.

So there you have it, an all around good experience for me and I do believe I will OC more often after having quelled my fears of public reaction to me OCing in my relatively left-leaning area.

I need to invest in one of these.... unfortunately money is very tight (after having bought my CC handgun, another handgun I saw and couldn't resist picking it up the next day (S&W M and P Model 1905 4th Change in 38spl... mmmm....) as well as losing my car. If anyone has suggestions for a good but inexpensive recorder I would love to hear em!

Doesn't need to be fancy,or lovely (or expensive). Mine was about $49 .
Got it at BestBuy. Remember you will not need all the bells and whistles, just the basics.
