Looking for M1 Garand work (Harrisburg Area)
I have a pair of Springfield Armory M1 Garands that I got through the CMP program. I've fired both a few times to test them but never had them checked out. I'd like to have them torn apart and cleaned, headspace checked/adjusted if necessary, and any other needed repairs made to make sure they're in safe working order. At some point in the future I might have one or both accurized for competition shooting but I don't want to spend that kind of money right now. I'd like to find someone familiar with these guns who's got a good rep and would be willing to do the work for a fair price, preferably within an hour or two of Harrisburg.
Any recommendations?
Thanks,
Doug

Re: Looking for M1 Garand work (Harrisburg Area)
I've used Charles Maloney down just out side (East) of Baltimore in Savage Maryland. He is retired from Fulton Armory so he is very reasonable.
From Harrisburg it is about 1:45 minutes or 90 miles

BTW he only works on Garands and M1A's.
He is a National Match Gunsmith.

Thanks. He's close enough and I hadn't heard of him before. I left a phone message for PA Patriot too, seems like he might be another good one to talk to.
