The Gen4 26's haven't been out long enough for there to be feedback on them yet.

The Gen4 9mm's have been the most problematic (so far), so getting a Gen3 would be the safest bet.

I have a Gen3 G26, and I looked at the G4 G19 a few weeks ago. If the new G26 is anything like it, I wouldn't. I didn't like the stipling on the G19 at all, it was very uncomfortable to hold.

I owned a Gen 3 26 and it was a great pistol. When I checked out the Gen 4 G19 I couldn't get used to it. The grip texture seemed to rough to be comfortable to carry without an undershirt. The Gen 3's have been tried and true. If the grip fits you I'd stick with the Gen 3

The majority of the problems with the Gen 4 are due to new the recoil spring and guide rod setup. The 26 already had(has) this type of setup so hopefully it will be good to go.

Never any issues with my Glock 19 Gen 4, then again never had any issues with my Gen 3 either. Safe bet all the way around IMHO.

I have never owned a Gen 4, however the Gen 3 26 or 27 should feel and point more like your Gen 3 23, especially with a grip extension like a pearce +1 or the such. Also, you may be able to pick up a gently used Gen 3 with people looking to go to the Gen 4. Hope this helps...

    Gen 3 Glocks are perfect.

Glock's Gen 4 reminds me of when I was a kid, going through my grandpop's pocket watch collection.

These time pieces where mint! But me being board, I had to "fix" them. I "fixed" them so much they were worthless pieces of metal and glass when I was done!!!

    I vote Gen 3.

Only differences between the two on the 26 is the grip texture & mag release. Personally, I prefer the Gen4 grips, the Gen 3's feel slick in comparison. I wonder how many of those who knock on Gen4's actually own one. I would not hesitate to buy any of them.

As some of the previous posts have already mentioned, the Gen4 Glocks chambered in 9mm were having problems related to the recoils spring/guide. I believe Glock is now shipping out replacements to correct this problem, but if I was you I would wait a little while longer to ensure the problem was correctly diagnosed. As for which one you should get should you need it yesterday, just go with the Gen3. Best of Luck!

The RSA in the Gen 4 subcompacts is unchanged from Gen 3. I wouldn't hesitate to get a Gen 4.
