haven't seen one offered but I have seen rifles on retail sites that are upgraded with pistons. Is there a set avail?

Adams Arms. User end installed. They offer carbine, mid-length, and rifle length gas piston kits.

Don't worry about it. He's just referring to the weekly discussions that go back and forth over if Piston ARs are really a worthy upgrade. Check out the thread he started to get a taste of it.

If you are interested in getting a piston upper PWS seems to have what looks to be one of the best AR piston systems out right now eliminating the carrier tilt issue by attaching the op rod to the carrier to stabilize it. If I were to buy a piston upper right now it would be either PWS or LWRC.

Yikes! Conversions are much cheaper. I do have a LWRC converted upper from the cos. first incarnation. Now I also have an Adams Arms conversion. I'm looking to add another, maybe CMMG.

That they may be, but I have found that oftentimes one gets what one pays for.
