Are you PA or MD resident?

IANAL, but it has always been my understanding that the law is based on residency, not who issued your drivers licence (normally one in the same, but I suppose there are some exceptions or ways around that)

You have 60 days to obtain a PA DL once you establish residency.

I would ask Cabelas if you can lay it away and then pick it up once you become a PA resident.

WOW. My first thoughts are that you should probably delete your post as it incriminates you.

Well, legally, you broke the law (actually several). Just because you work in MD and stay there several nights a week, does not make you a MD resident. You are a PA resident (you live and maintain a home in PA) and as such you have a set amount of time to transfer your DL from MD to PA. It appears that you did not, thus you broke PA law. Next, you bought a handgun in MD under false pretenses, you are a PA resident and the handgun, by federal law should have been shipped to a PA FFL to have it legally transferred to you. You just broke federal law (as well as PA and probably MD law).

PLANNING on getting a PA DL does not do a thing for you, that's not any kind of a defense.

You should have a PA license.

Then you still could buy guns in MD by simply having the FFL there ship them to a FFL here with no idiotic waiting period.

Instead, you have created a mess for yourself on your own doing.

I had another suggestion, but nope, no way I'm getting into that with you.

I'd suggest you quit posting before you further incriminate yourself as I have no doubt law enforcement scans these threads.

Unless they own a home in both states.

OP, where are you staying in MD, renting, hotel, family?

Correct, but the OP did not give us any indication that he had a home in MD. He did say that he and his wife lived in PA.
