Re: Colt 1991A1 vs Springfield 1911 Milspec
I bought the Springfield because my Mil-Spec was 200 bucks cheaper than any plain old govt model Colts I saw anywhere. im not paying 200 for the name and the horses on the grips.

Most people who really work their sidearm will avoid the Series 80, but it can be made into a carry piece that performs well. Just have to find the right gunsmith.

Colt vs Springfield 1911
I wouldn't turn down a "good" deal on a Colt, at least a collectable one that is. Their reputation has been on a downward swing, IMO, for awhile, so I don't believe I would seek out a newer Colt. Springfield, OTH, its' reputation is continually on the upward swing and I have purchased several Springfield products, been happy with them for the most part. I went a step above the Mil-spec and got the Loaded and am very satisfied with it.

How about the SA forever guarantee???? Not just for the first owner.
