Lancaster Co. E-mail Crime Reports?
I got the idea from the Practical Defense podcast (available via iTunes). It is hosted by Alex Haddox, a certified instructor of Jim Wagner's reality-based personal protection system (www.jimwagnertraining.com).
He suggests subscribing to email alerts about crime from local police departments. Considering how connective phone and internet has become, this could be very useful. Does anyone know departments that offer this?

Lancaster does post, on its website, fire and EMS calls but that is it. Police department technology around the state is really lacking. There is also something called CHRIA that prevents a lot of data sharing. It's a really outdated act, but still be enforced.
