The Ruger 10/22 Strikes Again!
I recently obtained a Ruger 10/22 carbine in stainless through an estate sale for an old friend. He had passed away of old age and today was the first time I have shot it. I was pleased with the starting results. All of my shots landed within the lower right hand quater of a pie plate. I blame the barrel band and my rapid fire sequence just to see how fast I could get it to go.
My current plans are to turn it into a primary plinker with the option to go squirrel/varmit hunting. I have the current upgrades in mind.
1. Tapco Intrafuse 10/22 .920 Rifle System Olive Drab
2. Tactical Solutions Rifle Barrel Thread Silver
3. Mueller 8.5-25X44AO Tactical Scope
4. Harris Bipod (not something always on the rifle but something I can use if I desire, I know it will require a picatinny rail adapter)
5. Please recommend a solid mag. I purchased a ProMag 32rd and am reasonably satisfied with it but so far I like the factory mag better.
6. A new trigger assembly or getting the current trigger assembly redone. The weight of pull is horrible.
7. A mag release extender.
Feel free to give me your thoughts and suggestions. This will be a gradual build as my only current income is substitute teaching. It pays good enough but I just don't work enough. Yet I love working at the school.Last edited by f14tcat691; October 8th, 2009 at 01:33 PM. Reason: My horrible spelling at 2 AM.

the VERY BEST high cap mag made is one of Tactical Innovations mags. Can be had in composite or metal. They ain't cheap but I've NEVER heard a bad word about their performance/functioning over on rimfirecentral.com Start reading up there, great source of info....

Wow. That is an expensive mag. But I can see the positives of it. I'm surprised they haven't shot it and found out it's bullet proof.

The only thing I found about the 10/22 mags is to stick with steel feed lips. They seem to work better and last longing than the plastic. Butler creek makes one called of course Steel lips.
